In the case of the plate, recorded by such musicians, there can be no objectivity, not even going to try, three brilliant composers and virtuosi, who were jointly responsible for some of the greatest rock bands of all time, decided to play along. They have nothing to prove, nothing must achieve - what counts is only what they want to do. And they want to create a strong, alternative hard rock - loud, harsh and decidedly difficult . And apparently, at the same time have the 'good fun'. Can you imagine anything better?

What can, afford to think in such a situation Dave Grohl? He was responsible for the success of Nirvana - probably the most important rock band of the 90's. Then he not only created the Foo Fighters, but added splendor its contribution many superb albums, like "Songs for the Deaf 'Queens of the Stone Age, or (with tongue in cheek) debut Tenacious D.

Added splendor the perfect word - from the very beginning you can hear clearly that thanks to him, things begin to happen magical chemistry starts working. But even someone like Dave Grohl has its inspiration - the artist has made no secret fascination with Led Zeppelin. And when he himself is ranked superstar, gets the opportunity to work with one of his heroes - and it's as partnerships.

John Paul Jones, the great stage of being a rock star is a long time for each other, which does not mean that he was not active for the last 30 years following the termination of Led Zeppelin. He was a producer, multi-instrumentalist session, thanks was him R.E.M. owes arrangements for orchestra "Automatic For The People" It would seem that at the age of 63 years He will not wished already make a noise on bass. Nothing could be more misleading, not only gives the of chad but even chased to work their younger colleagues. Josh Homme did not sound so energetically from the time already mentioned 'Songs for the Deaf', a there is an undeniable that recently wena rather it left. QOSTA last two albums were boring (because Nick Oliveri left? nomen omen - bassist), and the last of his work as a producer, that is, 'Humbug' Arctic Monkeys, not felled.

Somewhat surprisingly, it was Josh Homme dominates the entire Them Crooked Vultures debut....claustrophobic reverbs like tight spaces, raw guitar listen that he was playing with the manufacturer. Dessert Sessions, QOTSA and full mouth, and at times may even implicate an association with the recent Arctic Monkeys. At the beginning it bothered me, but after a few listens, I must admit that this voice works - makes it a whole is consistent and there is no sense of an excess of ideas. At the first audition almost seemed to me that this album is surprisingly simple! :) Of course - it is not. Each subsequent hearing odsłaniało me another of its advantages. It's not easy to grasp this record - it is overwhelming and it's in many ways. This can be done complaint, but I just like it. No one said that this music has to be easy, simple and fun, and the fact that we know so well the past to these gentlemen, I immediately give us a pass to the new world. I think the biggest advantage of Them Crooked Vultures is precisely that they create a new quality. John Paul Jones recently said that if anything in this new team przypomnina his work in Led Zeppelin, it is the spontaneity and freedom. Anything can happen.

Assessing Them Crooked Vultures, however, need to keep the proportions. This is not a new "Led Zeppelin II", "Nevermind" and "Blues for the Red Sun". But we have a hell of a solid dose of creative and energetic rock. This is not an album for everyone, and all the better for it. This is not a plate, which had to be recorded it only because the gods of rock they whim .. I would have such whims as much as possible.
